Women of Courage (Outward Bound Canada)

Women of Courage (Outward Bound Canada) is a program helping to build self-confidence and self-reliance in women that have experienced sexual violence or abuse. Each program sees eight women participate in a challenging eight-day course in the Canadian wilderness with two experienced female leads. The women are challenged physically and emotionally, including having to spend 24 hours solo, and often form lasting support groups. This has 'graduated' 1,000 women since its founding and has a proven ability to change lives.

The Women of Courage program aligns well with GROW’s objective to help women to rebuild and become self-sufficient. Our funding contributed to funding three W of C programs (Alberta, Ontario, and New Brunswick) for a total of 24 participants. (National)
